So my backyard is connected to this 1000-acre natural preservation. I'm still not sure where the state line is, but at some point in that area it's new york. there are a ton of walking trails leading to lakes and campsites.

tonight paul decided to take ben and i out there in the dark. supposedly there are enough animals there that eventually you'd get scared and run back. we walked in, left our flashlights off, then we started hearing noises. after going through random trails (and seeing a 'deer' that turned out to be a tree) we realized that there were cub scouts camping nearby and then a band was playing somewhere near them. then we kept walking in the dark until ben got tired and we came back.

i am surprisingly in a much better shape than i thought, granted i haven't exercised in >a month (aka last time i went to the trails). i should walk around there more often before i can't do it anymore.

i need a stuffed animal. and a bright yellow umbrella.

after a three hour drive, i'm finally home.

i love my car. i managed to get 35mpg for the first hour or so, then eventually dropped down to 31mpg bc i started speeding. i think the optimal speed range is 55-60mph.

driving with a headache really sucks. this whole week i feel like i have a brain tumor growing. every time i cough/sneeze my head hurts. ibuprofin is helping a bit, but i should probably sleep too. it's past my bedtime.

...but it's a bit entertaining to hear my little brother playing Taylor Swift upstairs.
